Why did we choose Montessori for our nursery?I started the school for my daughter Sophia when she was two. I looked into what child care was available in the area and realised that I needed to give parents an alternative. I wanted to adopt Maria Montessori principles because it follows the child's interests, which then is used to support the child's development in all areas of their learning. Over the last 32 years we have taught over 1000 children, founding the school in January 1991, and sadly have had to close our Middleton nursery in July 2022. Aldeburgh Sunflower is flourishing. We have kept true to the Montessori ethos. We opened our Aldeburgh nursery in 2018 In 2008 we were accredited by the Montessori Schools Association, took on board the government's Early Years Foundation Stage and integrated it with our principles and philosophy.
